Description Paul Eggleton 2015-04-10 16:40:05 UTC
If you use devtool update-recipe after devtool modify, for some recipes you get a warning about values being replaced e.g. with mdadm:

WARNING: Variable key FILES_${PN} ( ${base_libdir}/udev/rules.d/*.rules) replaces original key FILES_mdadm

I'm not exactly sure why this is happening; it doesn't appear to cause any issue but it shouldn't be showing up in any case.

Verified on master: 4bc3f0994e68b3302a0523a3156dd0dca0cac7a0

Steps to verify:
[daniel@fedora-ws poky-build]$ devtool modify mdadm -x /tmp/mdadm
NOTE: Creating workspace layer in /media/ssd/poky-build/workspace
NOTE: Enabling workspace layer in bblayers.conf
Parsing recipes..done.
NOTE: Fetching mdadm...
NOTE: Unpacking...
NOTE: Patching...
NOTE: Source tree extracted to /tmp/mdadm
NOTE: Using source tree as build directory since recipe inherits autotools-brokensep
NOTE: Recipe mdadm now set up to build from /tmp/mdadm

Go to /tmp/mdmadm and modify a file (eg TODO) and commit -a

daniel@fedora-ws poky-build]$ devtool update-recipe mdadm
Parsing recipes..done.
NOTE: Adding new patch 0001-Updated-to-do.patch
NOTE: Updating recipe mdadm_3.3.4.bb
[daniel@fedora-ws poky-build]$

No warnings shown.

To put things back:

[daniel@fedora-ws poky-build]$ devtool reset mdadm
NOTE: Cleaning sysroot for recipe mdadm...
[daniel@fedora-ws poky-build]$
