Description Bill Pittman 2015-04-21 18:36:36 UTC
If the dev package for tcl is installed on the host machine, the matplotlib recipe incorrectly links with -ltcl85 on the command line. Looking at the recipe, the code uses an include file /usr/include/tcl.h as an indicator to detemine if tcl should be linked with or not.

On a redhat machine, simply uninstalling the (hopefully unnecessary) dev package removed the header file in question and allowed the recipe to build properly without tcl. The resulting image of course worked fine.

The workaround (or semi-workaround) was to simply uninstall the dev package. However if the package is reinstalled,

The python-matplotlib recipe is in meta-python, and I'm afraid the Yocto Project doesn't officially maintain recipes in that layer. In general issues with meta-python should be reported to the openembedded-devel@lists.openembedded.org mailing list.

I'm marking this as invalid since this isn't the place to track this issue; However, Tim (added on CC), is this something you could look into quickly?
