Commit: 192a9e1031763943719b603acc52967525f67ebe Version: 1.7.2 rc2 Image: - genericx86 - genericx86-64 Hardware: Atom PC (Lenovo S10-3) and Sugarbay laptop (Dell inspiron 5520) When trying to unpack a .tar file it outputs the following error "tar: no gzip/bzip2/xz magic". This file used to be unpacked successfully in earlier builds and also works well on Ubuntu. BR, Cristina
Can you provide more information please, such as what kind of file tar file was being decompressed (.tar or .tar.gz or some other compression) and whether any of the compression programs needed were installed? The exact commandline used and also the types of images tested would also be useful (core-image-sato?).
I usually get a script file which I need for a test and decompress it on the board. It worked perfectly until now, but now it seems that the tar command had some issues. The tar command is " tar xvf continue.tar " and the image type is core-image-sato-sdk which I downloaded from http://autobuilder.yoctoproject.org/pub/releases/yocto-1.7.2.rc2/machines/ I will attach the tar file here.
Created attachment 2486 [details] the tar file I used
This is not generic to x86, it fails for all arch, it appears an earlier patch to busybox has caused this problem, I am continuing to look at this as it is a backport, I am concerned there is another part of the patch missing
