Host: routerstationpro Kernel: Linux version 2.6.37-yocto-standard-00034-g0efe4ff Image location: build on local machine I use the commit 6cb8fd6def4912e4aa76330649ba42a9ed2694fd and default config to build the images. And when i plug an USB device to target, it can *not* be recognized. When i compare the kernel config to the USB_Host document that use on wrlinux, i found the below configs are disabled. CONFIG_SCSI CONFIG_BLK_DEV_SD CONFIG_USB_STORAGE CONFIG_VFAT_FS/CONFIG_FAT_FS/CONFIG_MSDOS_FS So i enable these configs and rebuild the kernel, and then it can be recognized, and can be mount to target.
duping this with the other recent routerstation pro USB bug. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 766 ***
duplicated this to the wrong defect. FYI: this isn't working on purpose, since USB wasn't in the BSP "requirements" and hasn't been tested to date. So those missing config options are not unexpected. That being said, there's no harm in updating the BSP with those options.
An attempted fix for this was merged. Can we have a retest ?
Retest on http://autobuilder.pokylinux.org/nightly/20110301-4/machines/routerstationpro/mips/ sato-sdk image. commit 3a39d969286a2b2abb81c9d055ad558c258bbea2 Now the USB Flash can be recognized, and can read/write files from/to usb flash. But when i plug a vfat format USB Flash device to Routerstationpro, it can *not* be recognized, please see below for more info. root@routerstationpro:~# usb 1-1: new high speed USB device using ar71xx-ehci and address 6 usb 1-1: New USB device found, idVendor=0dd8, idProduct=0c00 usb 1-1: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3 usb 1-1: Product: USB Flash Disk usb 1-1: Manufacturer: Netac usb 1-1: SerialNumber: 0BAED69720D153BD scsi4 : usb-storage 1-1:1.0 scsi 4:0:0:0: Direct-Access Netac OnlyDisk 1.00 PQ: 0 ANSI: 2 sd 4:0:0:0: [sdb] 2009600 512-byte logical blocks: (1.02 GB/981 MiB) sd 4:0:0:0: [sdb] Write Protect is off sd 4:0:0:0: [sdb] Assuming drive cache: write through sd 4:0:0:0: [sdb] Assuming drive cache: write through sdb: sdb1 sd 4:0:0:0: [sdb] Assuming drive cache: write through sd 4:0:0:0: [sdb] Attached SCSI removable disk FAT: invalid media value (0x01) VFS: Can't find a valid FAT filesystem on dev sdb.
