Currently nothing gives users an indication of what's going to happen with the error report after submission to our error reporting server. We should make clear that nobody will look at the error unless you provide a link to the report in some other channel (e.g. the mailing list or a bug report). This probably just means printing a note to this effect in the error report script. We'll also need to tweak the documentation - specifically the "Using the Error Reporting Tool" section of the dev manual.
We added "The errors for this build are stored in %s\nYou can send the errors to a reports server by running:\n send-error-report %s [-s server]" % (datafile, datafile)) "The contents of these logs will be posted in public if you use the above command with the default server. Please ensure you remove any identifying or proprietary information when prompted before sending." and documentation: , the errors are sent to a public database available at http://errors.yoctoproject.org, which is used by the entire community. If you specify a particular server, you can send the errors to a different database. Use the following command for more information on available options: $ send-error-report --help
This still doesn't make clear that submission isn't going to ensure anyone looks at the results; the URL returned can be pasted into bug reports or elsewhere though.
