Layers such as meta-oe make use of PNBLACKLIST to blacklist recipes that aren't currently building, specifying a reason why the recipe is blacklisted. When a recipe is blacklisted in this way, the fact that it is blacklisted and the reason ought to be shown clearly in the OE layer index. This would be displayed in the details for the recipe, and presumably the recipe's entry in recipe lists would be marked in some way as well.
Starting to look into the design for this, and it seems that blacklisted recipes are not currently being shown by the layer index. For example, meta-oe in mater blacklists obexd gnome-mplayer zenity gdm etc... None of the above show in the list of recipes at http://layers.openembedded.org/layerindex/branch/master/layer/meta-oe/ If I go to the recipe search page (http://layers.openembedded.org/layerindex/branch/master/recipes/) and search for any of the above, none appear provided by meta-oe.
And ignore my previous comment: I was looking at the wrong layer :/ Sorry for the noise

Created attachment 2607 [details] Design - Showing blacklisted recipes Clarify how to display the value of the PNBLACKLIST variable (particularly because it can be set to an expression, something I didn't know before). Changes affect only page 3

Alex, please check if this bug can be resolved. Moving it to M4 in the meantime.
This is now up on the live layer index, marking as resolved.
