we need to stop building lsb-qt3 images for current 1.8+snapshot builds and onward but still maintain backwards compatibility.

It's just an additional buildstep CheckForQT3 (similar to CheckForMinnow) and then some logic in BuildImages.

Beth,
AB is still building lsb-qt3 images. 
When the modification will be in production?

Images are not built anymore. 
What is the reason of keeping qt3 layer?

We still need meta-qt3 for prior releases. So we still check that the remote head exists, but we don't check it out or use it in releases that don't need it.

Where are you seeing this?

Hi Beth,
I saw those tasks in logs:

NOTE: recipe gtk+-2.24.29-r0: task do_populate_lic_setscene: Succeeded

Somehow are still used those recipes. So we should remove this layer from layer.conf to check if builds ok.

2.1 depends on qt3 for the LSB images, so lets think about this in 2.2.

This should wait for the LSB images to move to LSB 5 where Qt3 is removed entirely, which is tracked in bug 9383.

The initial bit of this is in oe-core master-next, and I filed bug 10020 which is basically a superset of this bug.
