The opkg included in the adt-installer is version 0.1.8, which has a bug of can not corrected handle the long link name of tar header when install a ipk file. This cause the corrupted installation of binutils-cross-canadian-arm. opkg upstream had such fixing in SVN trunk, the adt-installer should use the SVN tip version instead of the version 0.1.8.
I need some time to make the SRC_URL = svn trunk works. After update the opkg, the problem like below should be gone. Configuring binutils-cross-canadian-arm. Collected errors: * extract_archive: Cannot link from ./opt/poky/0.9+snapshot/sysroots/x86_64-pokysdk-linux/usr/bin/armv5te-poky-linux-gnueabi/arm-poky-linux-gnueabi-ld to './opt/poky/0.9+snapshot/sysroots/x86_64-pokysdk-linux/usr/bin/armv5te-poky-linux-gnueabi/arm-poky-li':Installing gcc for arm ...
