When the Build Appliance is built with:
MACHINE = "qemux86-64" : splash screen is OK

However when built with:
MACHINE = "genericx86-64" : splash screen is missing.

Instead, there is a message about missing /dev/fb0.
This was observed for both VirtualBox and vmplayer.

This issue is not seen anymore. Tested on Virtual Box.
