Description Costin 2015-08-25 02:01:35 UTC
Hello,

Tried to use bbnote for simple debugging purposes and it didn't work.

poky master hash: e5956a6b850f75e65a76180fc7a568553072d36d

How to test:
cat meta/classes/myclass.bbclass

do_test() {
  bbwarn ${D}/${bindir}
  bbwarn "from inside test class ..."
  bbnote "from inside test class ..."
  bbnote ${D}/${bindir}
}

addtask test

then add the following to conf/local.conf:
...
INHERIT = "test"
...

run the test task against a target:
bitbake m4 -c test

same happens to bb.note:

cat meta/classes/myclass.bbclass:
python do_test() {
  var = d.getVar("D",True)
  bb.note(var)
  bb.warn(var)
}

addtask test

result:

cosscat@cosscat:/media/cosscat/Touro/7poky/build$ bitbake m4 -c test
...
"(detachedfrome5956a6):e5956a6b850f75e65a76180fc7a568553072d36d"

Have a look at the log file for the task. By default note messages are not shown on the main console output.
