The busybox recipe does not install ua-links for systemd/system/syslog.service. BTW: Same problem with syslog-ng from meta.oe (rsyslog does it right). I've posted patches in the related mailing lists.
As you've posted patches, I'll change the owner back to you.
Is this sensible? I do not have the rights to push these commits. So I can't do anything more to bring this issue forward.
FWIW, none of us do either :) Only Richard can actually push patches to OE-Core.
OK, can/should I do something to quicken the process? BTW: The patches should be pushed at least to fido and jethro branches too.
No, if you've sent it to the list as a non-RFC then it's out for review. If there are review comments then you may need to address those but for now I think you've done what you can - Thanks. I've marked it as IN PROGRESS REVIEW accordingly. (Fixed the milestone back to 2.1, thanks to bugzilla's web form it got reverted to 1.4.5)
The problem seems to be more general. see http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.handhelds.openembedded.core/71838
Sorry, but i do not have the time and the knowledge to fix this bug. -> unassigned

Sorry, that wasn't the fix
We only allow one syslog implementation to be installed at a time with RCONFLICTS now so this is no longer an issue.
