Steps to reproduce: 1. Create a Toaster project 2. Import a layer with the following details name: meta-sdr-test git url: git://github.com/balister subdirectory: meta-sdr revision: master 3. Build something from the imported layer, for example, rtl-sdr The build will fail at the cloning stage with this error: command: git clone "git://github.com/balister" "/home/yocto/master/_toaster_clones/_git___github.com_balister_master" Cloning into '/home/yocto/master/_toaster_clones/_git___github.com_balister_master'... fatal: remote error: Repository not found. 4. Go to the meta-sdr-test layer details page. Delete the subdirectory and set the git url to git://github.com/balister/meta-sdr 5. Run again the rtl-sdr build The meta-sdr-test layer will be cloned without problems. It looks like Toaster is ignoring the subdirectory information when trying to clone the layer.
After playing a bit more with this I've discovered that this won't clone: name: meta-sdr-test git url: git://github.com/balister subdirectory: meta-sdr revision: master But this: name: openembedded-core-test git url: git://git.openembedded.org/openembedded-core subdirectory: meta revision: master and this: name: meta-oe-test git url: git://git.openembedded.org/meta-openembedded subdirectory: meta-oe revision: master will clone without problems. Now I am not sure what's going on.
Looking at git://github.com/balister it's not the correct git url for the layer which would be the problem here. There is no subdir the correct git url is git://github.com/balister/meta-sdr
