Description John 'Warthog9' Hawley 2016-02-04 20:53:10 UTC
There have been requests to be able to support UEFI 2.6 Capsule update support on the MinnowBoard MAX / Turbot, this is a formal bug for tracking that request.

This effort will require the Firmware to move from UDK2014.SP1 based firmware to UDK2015 based firmware.

The firmware team has been considering this move, however there are a few risk point to consider:

The code base for the UEFI elements of the Open Source firmware will shift from one code repository to another (Two different trunks). This could be confusing to the community if not understood up front. (The sources for the firmware will fundamentally change)

There will be an integration period, making the cadence between the current 0.90 firmware and the next firmware (based upon UDK2016) longer. This should not be an issue as long as the other bugs/features under development are not too urgent.

This feature has been added into V0.91 release.

We are no longer tracking in Yocto Project Bugzilla MinnowBoard and MinnowBoard-MAX HW and firmware bugs.
