Description Sascha Silbe 2016-04-27 15:32:29 UTC
For some machines, the device node names of TTYs used as console may exceed 4 characters, even after removing the "tty" part (if any). E.g. /dev/ttysclp0 and /dev/sclp_line0 on s390x.

The sysvinit recipe uses the console device name to generate the label for the corresponding getty line in the inittab. It removes the leading "tty" from the device name, but no further processing happened so far. That's good enough for short device names like ttyS0, but will break for long device names as sysvinit only allows up to 4 characters for the label.

The label should be abbreviated/truncated to 4 characters to avoid this issue.

Current git master (including the fix) works like a charm, thanks!
