Description Tom Zanussi 2016-05-02 15:48:46 UTC
Please add the attached hands-on kernel lab pdf and layers tarball to the website.

Please note that the following location is specified in the lab text for users to download the layers for the lab, so please put it at that location:

wget https://www.yoctoproject.org/sites/yoctoproject.org/files/kernel-lab-
2.1-layers.tar.bz2

Yocto Project Hands-on kernel lab for yocto 2.1 (krogoth) layers tarball
Comment 3 Michael Halstead 2016-05-03 06:18:54 UTC
Looks like Jefro uploaded to https://www.yoctoproject.org/training/hands-kernel-lab-yp-21-krogoth.
Comment 4 Tom Zanussi 2016-05-03 13:47:55 UTC
Is that the final destination? If so, the url of the layers doesn't match what's in the pdf, which as I discussed with jefro is fine, I just need to change what's in the pdf.

Also, is there a menu path to it from the yocto page?

Yocto Project Hands-on kernel lab for yocto 2.1 (krogoth) layers tarball with updated URL pointing to lab layers

Please replace the pdf with this one if the final location of the layers tarball is indeed https://www.yoctoproject.org/sites/default/files/kernel-lab-2.1-layers.tar.bz2

Looks like the redirection works now, thanks.
Comment 7 Jeff Osier-Mixon 2016-05-04 20:03:34 UTC
Not sure who fixed the redirection (probably Michael) but I did just now upload the new PDF, thanks for staying on top of this!

It seems this broke the link, can you check it?

The new link was different:

https://www.yoctoproject.org/sites/default/files/kernel-lab-2.1_0.pdf

I posted a reply to the announcement with that link.

If possible, it would be better to have the links to the krogoth labs along with the others on the 'Kernel Labs' page:

https://www.yoctoproject.org/training/kernel-lab

Not just for consistency but that's where google points you to for 'kernel labs'

Added links, should be all set now
Comment 12 Tom Zanussi 2016-05-18 14:29:37 UTC
Thanks, Jeff.

Just a couple small things:

The link to the layers on that page is:

https://www.yoctoproject.org/sites/default/files/kernel-lab-2.1-layers.tar_0.bz2

but to match the lab text it should be:

https://www.yoctoproject.org/sites/default/files/kernel-lab-2.1-layers.tar.bz2

Also, it would be nice to update the text for the page to add krogoth:

https://www.yoctoproject.org/training/kernel-lab

It appears the INFO is supplied. Please ask another question if you want this in NEEDINFO.
Comment 14 Jeff Osier-Mixon 2016-05-24 14:10:25 UTC
I have asked Michael for help on changing the filename. I don't know where the extra _0 came from.
Comment 15 Michael Halstead 2016-05-24 20:41:46 UTC
This has been uploaded twice. It cannot have the same name twice.

This first place it was uploaded is https://www.yoctoproject.org/training/hands-kernel-lab-yp-21-krogoth

And it was uploaded again at https://www.yoctoproject.org/training/kernel-lab. Since this was the second time it was uploaded Drupal appended _0 to make the name unique.

They are both listed at https://www.yoctoproject.org/tools-resources/training

Both links work and download the same document right now. We can delete https://www.yoctoproject.org/training/hands-kernel-lab-yp-21-krogoth completely and re-upload to https://www.yoctoproject.org/training/kernel-lab. Then we would have just one copy of the file.
Comment 16 Michael Halstead 2016-05-24 21:09:16 UTC
I've deleted the https://www.yoctoproject.org/training/hands-kernel-lab-yp-21-krogoth node and the file https://www.yoctoproject.org/sites/default/files/kernel-lab-2.1-layers.tar_0.bz2. Instead of leaving those as broken links I redirected them back to the combo kernel labs page.

I added a note about kergoth to the kernel labs page and I re-ordered so the newest labs are at the top.
