We really need the preparing_build_system.log contents to see what actually failed - I've filed bug 9576 to ensure this gets logged when running the test on the autobuilder in future. It's odd that this would only affect these two architectures though.
In my machine, the problem could not be reproduced. Tested just on qemumips.
We're not seeing this issue on the autobuilder any more so I assume this was fixed at some point and the bug just got lost in the system. Resolving accordingly.
