Description Igor Stoppa 2016-05-16 18:26:48 UTC
Premise
Edit some recipes with devtool (modify, update-ecipe, reset).
Do it so that in the end all hte recipes have been reset.

Action
Remove the workspace from the build directory and rebuild.

Expected outcome
Everything builds fine, using nothing from the workspace.

Actual outcome
Build error, caused by the absence of the layer.conf file from the workspace.

example:

I still had:

BBLAYERS ?= " \
  ${OSTRO_LAYERS} \
  /home/igor/dev/ostro-os/build/workspace \
  "

in bblayers.conf

The workspace layer is meant to stay in place for the next time you want to use it. Its presence when there are no recipes in it doesn't affect your build in any way, so there isn't a material need to delete it or remove it; removing it all the time would likely trigger unnecessary reparsing in any case.

However, should you feel the need to, you can remove it easily with a single command:
