I'm trying to build krogoth using meta-atmel, but looks like the "exclude" in ptest perl recipe does not work as expected:

ERROR: perl-5.22.1-r0 do_populate_sysroot: runstrip: ''arm-poky-linux-gnueabi-strip' --remove-section=.comment --remove-section=.note '/home/sherpya/poky/build-atmel/tmp/work/cortexa5hf-neon-poky-linux-gnueabi/perl/5.22.1-r0/sysroot-destdir/usr/lib/perl/ptest/generate_uudmap'' strip command failed with 1 (arm-poky-linux-gnueabi-strip:/home/sherpya/poky/build-atmel/tmp/work/cortexa5hf-neon-poky-linux-gnueabi/perl/5.22.1-r0/sysroot-destdir/usr/lib/perl/ptest/generate_uudmap: File format not recognized

if I comment out:
require perl-ptest.inc

the build works
Comment 1 Renato Caldas 2016-05-28 10:41:43 UTC
I am experiencing this problem building the master branch for qemux86. In my case, since the target arch is x86, I'm not having the "File format not recognized" errors, but instead have QA errors later in the process:

ERROR: perl-5.22.1-r0 do_package_qa: QA Issue: Architecture did not match (3 to 62) on work/i586-poky-linux/perl/5.22.1-r0/packages-split/perl-dbg/usr/lib/perl/ptest/.debug/generate_uudmap [arch]

What distribution are you using? I am building this in Arch Linux and having trouble with it. Tried building krogoth in a Linux Mint virtual machine and it worked flawlessly (hate using VM's for development though..).

I've just submitted a patch that should fix this. Would you please try it out?
Comment 3 Henry Hallam 2016-05-28 19:42:53 UTC
I'm having the same issue (originally targeting Zynq with meta-xilinx, but reproduced on qemuarm). Renato's patch fixes it, thanks very much - impressive sleuthing!
Comment 4 Gianluigi Tiesi 2016-05-29 13:19:41 UTC
