There is a patch on master to fix the build with gcc6:

commit b83a808fcbd3e7aec3b0757c7180cf83dac44e92
Author: Dan McGregor <dan.mcgregor@usask.ca>
Date: Wed May 11 10:35:15 2016 -0700

pkgconfig: Fix build with gcc-6 and upgrade to 0.29.1

glib patch is backported from glib-2.0 upstream
eventually we will throw it away once pkgconfig
    moves to newer glib

Maybe we need to backport it ?

Yes, can you backport just the gdate gcc patch to krogoth and post the patch?

Hi Ross,

After backport the patch for pkgconfig-native, I found there are several native packages also build failed with gcc6:
elfutils-natvie, rpm-native, binutils-native, glib-native, docbook-utils-native, gcc-cross.

That means we need to backport a lot of patches and spend more time to test to make sure they work well on Fedora 24 and other distributions.

How do you think about it? Or we just declare krogoth doesn't support Fedora 24 ?
Comment 3 Tim Orling 2016-07-14 15:00:29 UTC
Verified the failure.
Comment 4 Tim Orling 2016-07-15 01:53:19 UTC
poky-contrib timo/krogoth-9897

All packages mentioned above have been fixed with backports and cherry-picked commits.

NEEDS TO BE VERIFIED with world build on Fedora-24.
Comment 5 Tim Orling 2016-07-17 18:42:46 UTC
Local world build also turned up nss-native. Additional patch sent to ML. Also available on timo/krogoth-nss-native poky-contrib branch.

Comment 8 Tim Orling 2016-07-23 15:54:01 UTC
AB nightly-world-lsb turned up two more failures:
grub-eft-native - http://errors.yoctoproject.org/Errors/Details/72815/
qt4-native - http://errors.yoctoproject.org/Errors/Details/72816/
Comment 9 Tim Orling 2016-07-23 21:53:51 UTC
Patches sent to mailing lists.
Comment 10 Tim Orling 2016-07-28 15:29:41 UTC
qt4-native is tracked in YOCTO #10039

Closing this bug since the rest of the patches have been merged.
