Description Benjamin Esquivel 2016-10-20 15:02:02 UTC
mkefidisk.sh should be deprecated and removed from the repo. All the documentation referring to this script should be changed too. See bug 10451.
Comment 1 Ed Bartosh 2016-10-28 11:51:34 UTC
Would it make sense to put deprecation warning in the script and leave it for some time as is?

Many layers are still using it and removing it would not make maintainers of those layers happy I guess.
Comment 2 Benjamin Esquivel 2016-10-28 15:25:05 UTC
Makes sense to add a warning and keep it there for some time.
Comment 3 Ed Bartosh 2016-10-31 10:49:23 UTC
Added warning message to the script output: http://lists.openembedded.org/pipermail/openembedded-core/2016-October/128191.html
Comment 4 Benjamin Esquivel 2016-10-31 17:29:24 UTC
the warning message looks good to me.
Comment 5 Ed Bartosh 2016-11-08 09:28:13 UTC
My patch has bee accepted to oe-core master branch. I'm going to resolve this bug for now. It doesn't make sense to keep it opened and assigned to me for a long time until the end of mkefdisk.sh deprecation period.
Comment 6 Benjamin Esquivel 2016-11-08 18:22:18 UTC
adding Jair as QA contact so he can verify it.
Comment 7 Jair Gonzalez 2016-12-21 17:30:55 UTC
Marking as verified after confirming the warning message is on 2.3 M1 rc1.
