Description California Sullivan 2017-01-28 01:00:48 UTC
initramfs-framework is more modular and expandable than the init scripts we install by default. Once these are expanded a bit they should become the preferred solution.
Comment 1 California Sullivan 2017-01-28 01:49:29 UTC
Minor clarification - this is for the initrd and live booting/installation. sysvinit or systemd handles the normal case as usual.

The patch get reverted due to failure in oe-selftest. Cal figured out the fix and already sent the patch to mailing list.
Comment 4 Saul Wold 2017-08-28 23:30:45 UTC
Initramfs framework has been enabled in meta-intel and is getting tested with the meta-intel bsp, should be able to generally enable this for oe-core and meta-yocto-bsps

Please provide an update on the status of this and let me know if it will be ready for YP 2.5 M3.

Patch has been sent to the list for a while but its fallen through the cracks. I'll prod it along some more...
