Sometimes I want to create work tracking bugs and assign them to a specific person (such as myself).

Currently this is a two step process; 1) file bug 2) change assignee

It'd be great if we could assign the bugs to a person at their creation

You can assign to any people when you reporting bug in step 1. The field is named " Assign To:". You need to input the assignee's email address.

Oh, my bad - I missed the 'Show Advanced Fields' link. Once I've clicked that I can set the assignee at creation time.
